Events

Take Back The Night

An emotional and moving evening dealing with the topic of sexual assault, where survivors are celebrated for their strength and encouraged to take up the mic and share their story in an open and supportive atmosphere.

Relay For Life

Relay for Life allows the community to come together to celebrate survivors and caregivers, remember loved ones who have lost their battle to cancer, and fight back against cancer. The funds raised truly make a difference in the fight against cancer. We walk the entire night because cancer also does not sleep. While the event is solemn during ceremonies, the night is filled with fun events such as a hypnotist, a Chinese auction, a date auction, Minute to Win it Games, Zumba, free food, free gifts, and much more!

Alumni Weekend

All alumni, whether you are celebrating class reunion or not, are invited back to WPI to reconnect with friends, revisit favorite spots, and see how the campus has changed since your student years. Alumni Weekend is a jam-packed weekend of old traditions and exciting new programs, and throughout the weekend there will be opportunities to eat, dance, explore, learn, relax, play with your kids, and much more.

Community Service Day

A day where WPI goes into to the Worcester community to clean and give back.

Volunteering

Friendship Baptist Church

In 2016, we celebrate ninety-seven years as the oldest African American Baptist Church in Schenectady, New York. We continue to honor our past, serve our present, and mentor our future. Though the building remains the same, we have enhanced the worship experience with the introduction of new technology. Our congregation reflects our surrounding community, with its struggles, aspirations, perseverance, frailty, youth, excitement, discipline, wisdom and innovative thinking. Friendship strives to combine a down home “spiritual feeling” in a contemporary gathering of the saints in worship, praise and service.

Red Cross

The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors.

Donate. Give Blood. Advocate. Volunteer. Get trained.
